In this section, we’ll be talking about the essential material for beautifying lips and making them attractive

  1. Lip oil:  this is mostly made out of natural oil and other ingredients for moisturizing, nourishing, and hydrating the lips. It also gives a high glow finish.

  1. Lip Pencil: lip pencil is used to improve the shape of the lip, color the lip or use it as an outline to set borders of the lips before applying makeup or lipstick. If you want to create a fuller pout for your kids, you can use the lip liner to contour the mouth and lightly over-line. But if you want to make the kid’s lips appear smaller use dark lipstick.
  1. Lip primer: lip primer acts as a foundation for the lipstick and keeps the lipstick in place. It is worn underneath the lip gloss, lipstick, or lip liner to create a smooth appearance for the lip, making lipstick and other lip products last longer. Most lip primer comes in stick form and solid form. Always ensure to pick the most suitable products for your kid’s skin when applying makeup.
  1. Lipstick: lipstick comes in different colors and shades ranging from liquid lipstick to pearl lipstick. It is used to enhance and add color to the lips.

The Eye Area

Research shows that the eyes are the most attractive part of the body. Most times, our kids make those pretty and cute eyes while pleading for something and we tend to fall for it.

In this part, We are going to talk about different products use to beautify the human eyes.

The Skin Area.

The skin is the most sensitive part of the body and needs to be treated with extra care. Most especially kids’ skin as they tend to react to the environment easily.

The items for beautifying the skin include

  1. Foundation: Foundation is a liquid or powder makeup applied to the face to give the complexion an even color, to cover imperfections, and sometimes to transform a person’s appearance. Foundation can come in liquid, cream, or powder form and is designed to even out skin tone and smooth out imperfections. One of the most important factors to consider when choosing a foundation for your children is coverage and skin type.
  1. Primer: A cosmetic primer is a cream that is applied before another cosmetic to improve coverage and prolong the time the cosmetic last on the face. Obtainable in gel, cream, or spray form, cosmetic primers can create an actual canvas for your makeup application, filling in fine lines and blurring enlarged pores
  1. Concealer: Concealer is similar to foundation, except it’s usually thicker and hides dark circles, pimples, acne scars, age spots, blemishes, and more by hiding pigments and blurring those blemishes on the skin. The concealer is intended to add additional coverage in selected areas. Depending on the look you want to achieve, you can opt for a concealer with a dewy or matte finish.
  1. Setting powder: Setting powder is a beauty product used to set makeup, and you can apply it after foundation, concealer, or any other cream or liquid product.

The main purpose of a setting powder is to thwart your makeup from pleating or melting during the day. It can also help absorb redundant oil, which is especially helpful for those with oily skin.

Setting powders are available in translucent and shaded formulas. A translucent powder is sheer and comes in a universal shade that suits all skin tones. On the other hand, a colored or shaded powder contains pigments and tints that can add some color to the face.

  1. Finishing powder: A finishing powder is applied on the face after the makeup is done to soften hard lines, and change or minimize the appearance of pores and texture of the skin.
  1. Blush and bronzer: choose a bronzer that is two shades or a shade darker than the kid’s complexion. Use a fluffy brush to blend the bronzer around the child’s cheekbone, jawline, or hairline. Ensure to blend in a circular sweeping form to get a flawless finish. When it comes to applying the brush on the kid’s face, select a blush that brings out the child’s natural look(depending on the type of makeup you are doing for your kids) and apply it on the apple of the child’s cheek to get your desired look.

How to Do Makeup for Kids: In 6 Simple Steps

Like I said earlier, kids’ makeup is quite easy compared to adults, and the reason why makeup is necessary for kids these days is because of the type of occasions they are attending.

Make-up boosts a child’s confidence by up to 60%  if properly applied because it enhances their beauty and appearance.

I will be simplifying the six steps to applying makeup on a kid’s face. I will also make sure that you remember each step I am going to show you, In case you want to try it again next time.

Step 1: Prepare The Skin

The skin of a child is highly sensitive compared to that of an adult, a child’s skin can easily be irritated by things like soap, cream, heat, makeup, etc.

When choosing cosmetics for kids ensure that the skin type is taken into consideration.

To make sure that your child’s skin does not react negatively to makeup, make sure you clean their face with warm water and a mild face cleanser.

After washing the face, depending on the skin type apply a facial lotion to sensitive skin and an alcohol-free skin toner to dry skin after applying the facial lotion use a cotton ball to apply on the skin.

Wait for at least 20 to 30 minutes for the moisturizer to be completely soaked before moving to the next step.

Step 2: Apply Foundation and Concealer:

Foundation and concealer are a kind of makeup applied on the skin to tone it.

Ensure to choose a foundation that is two shades darker than the kid’s skin even if the child has dark skin and a concealer that is 2 shades lighter and three shades darker than the foundation color.

When applying makeup on kids it is best to use compressed pancake foundation instead of liquid foundation as it won’t corrode or rub off if your kids get sweaty under the stage lights or after playing around.

Apply the pancake foundation with a makeup sponge or soft brush, beginning with the cheeks and blending outward.

Make sure to meld the makeup into their neck and hairline. Otherwise, your kid may look like they’re modelling a mask.

Now that your foundation is applied, you’re ready to apply concealer. Concentrate on any areas you want to conceal which are under the eyes, around the nostrils, and any scars or wounds on the child’s face. When it comes to concealing the face, it’s necessary to dab, not drag. “When applying concealer, you shouldn’t disseminate it, but always dab it in place, allowing it to saturate the area you are trying to conceal.

You don’t need to buy a costly makeup brand. Any brand that is made for sensitive skin will work fine better still go for kids’ makeup brands and kits

Step 3: Set Base

After applying the foundation and concealer on the kid’s face dab your brush into your setting powder, tap to remove the extra amount on the brush, and then press on the kid’s face in order not to move your makeup around after the application procedure. Always try to Focus on areas that frequently seem to need a touch-up throughout the day.

Step 4: Create dimension using contour

Contours are available in powder, liquid, and cream forms, with powder being the most infallible and therefore ideal for beginners.

When creating a dimension focus on the cheekbone and side of the nose with the contour. After then apply bronzer under the jawline and every perimeter of the forehead just like the way you apply the contour.

Step 5: Apply Eye Makeup

While applying eye makeup on kids, the choice is yours to make. Do you want spooky or Dark eyes for the kids or natural eyes? Depending on the event of the day and the attires/costumes the kids are going to wear, then you can tailor your eye makeup to match the mood. Choose a light shade of eyeshadow and apply on the eyelid with a small makeup brush and blend it towards the eyebrow.

Afterwards, Apply a line of darker eyeshadow to the furrow of the eyelid and the color can be chocolate brown then blend with a new brush.

After filling the eyeshadow, apply the eyeliner. While applying the eyeliner, be extremely careful and patient in order not to get the eyeliner into their eyes, they might start watering and ruin the makeup. Use the eyeliner to line the lid which is the top and bottom of the kid’s eyes. Ensure the kid’s eyes are closed throughout the process.

Step 6: Apply Lip Product:

Ensure to choose a lip product that is a few shades darker than the kid’s natural lip and if you are starting with a lip primer prepare the lip before you start.

Start with a lip liner to outline the lip by drawing a thin line around the borders of the lip. Afterwards, ask the kid to open their mouth a little bit and apply the lipstick. Tell the kid to make an “O” shaped mouth and dab the lip product on the lip then use your finger to blend the lipstick.
