Instructions and Ingredient Description:

Apply 1-2 coats as needed to the nail, allowing dry time in between coats. Please use with parental supervision to avoid direct contact with eyes and mouth during use. The ingredients fall within the ingredient safety database with a high safety ranking in the Green category 1-2 - see below for more details.

Butyl Acetate & Ethyl Acetate - used to dissolve other substances including nitrocellulose, the basic film-forming material in nail polish. Butyl acetate is found in many types of fruit, where along with other chemicals it imparts characteristic flavors. Apples, especially of the red delicious variety are flavored in part by this chemical. Skin Deep Ranking: 1 - Green.

Nitrocellulose - is produced from cellulose, a naturally occurring component in the cell wall of green plants. Nitrocellulose is the primary film former in nail polish formulation. Its excellent adhesion property to the natural nail makes it an indispensable ingredient in the nail lacquer formulation. Its other attributes are durability, toughness, solubility and quick solvent release under ambient drying conditions. Nail coatings formulated with nitrocellulose are semi-occlusive; that is, they protect the nail and at the same time allow the nail to breathe. Skin Deep Ranking: 1 - Green.

Adipic Acid/Trimellitic Anhydride Copolymers - function as film formers in cosmetic formulations. Skin Deep Ranking: 1 - Green.

Acetyl Tributyl Citrate is an esters of citric acid. Citric acid may be obtained from natural sources such as citrus fruits. Skin Deep Ranking: 1 - Green.

Isopropyl Alcohol - is most commonly known as rubbing alcohol. Isopropyl Alcohol is widely used in cosmetics and personal care products. Skin Deep Ranking: 2 - Green.

Stearalkonium Bentonite - This ingredient is a reaction product of bentonite, a type of clay, and stearalkonium chloride, a quaternary amine surfactant and antimicrobial agent. Stearalkonium Bentonite is used as natural based suspending agents that promote uniform pigment dispersion in the nail polish. Skin Deep Ranking: 1 - Green.

Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer - a polymer used as a film former in cosmetics and personal care products that has opaque properties and is seen in a variety of formulas, including those for sunscreens and other lotions. Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer has large molecules that do not penetrate the skin. Skin Deep Ranking: 2 - Green.

Silica is the most common constituent of sand. In cosmetics for skin use, regular sand presents little, if any risk to people. There is no inhalation risk when used in a liquid formula. Skin Deep Ranking: 2 - Green.

Trimethylpentanediyl Dibenzoate - used as a plasticizer in nail polish. Skin Deep Ranking: 1 - Green
